Also opted for the thermosoft tips and while I can't make a comparison to anything without them, they are comfortable to wear for the duration of a 2 hour gig.

"Having used IEM's consistently since 1998, I've had various types. From Sony earbuds, Shure basic models, and finally in 2005, I got Custom Moulded Pure Tone triple drivers. They worked adequately until 2012, when they got damaged beyond repair. Not being able to afford to replace them, I bought a pair of Shure 425 dual drivers and they've been serving me well eve since. I toyed with the idea of custom moulded tips for them, but getting ear impressions taken was proving difficult. When I seen LUGS advertise their products, I contacted them and they advised me that a full re-shell would be better then tips. Basically, rehouse the electronics from the Shires in a custom-moulded shell. Perfect. So, impressions made (on-site) and shells ready. Out of curiosity, I got a price for having their own drivers installed in the shells, so I could keep my Shures as a backup. I got quoted for dual drivers, and triple drivers. The difference in having the triples fitted, was still considerably less than replacing the 425's. And half the price of the original Pure Tones! So I went for that. Collected them this afternoon, I've been A/B 'ing the Lugs to the Shures, and there's no comparison. The bottom end is comparable, but the midrange is much more detailed and balanced, and the isolation is way better. And being custom-fits, wearing them for a long time won't be a problem. So comfortable. Highly recommended."

Just picked up my new lugs quad driver custom in ear monitors. The finish is flawless. The sound is well balanced and crystal clear. Loads of bottom end and defined highs. Perfect fit into the ear canal giving optimum isolation. They are a big upgrade from my shure se535s. Highly recommended. Professional setup and great service. Get them ordered folks and save what's left of you're hearing.
